Job Overview
Industrial painters/ coating technicians are primarily responsible for surface treatment and applying protective coatings to steel , concrete, and other substrates in marine, industrial , and commercial environments . Their work includes sandblasting , power tool cleaning , and coating application, ensuring all work complies with project technical specifications, safety regulations , and company quality standards .
Job Responsibilities
Surface treatments include ultra-high pressure / high-pressure water cleaning , manual and power tools, and solvent cleaning; sandblasting is performed as needed for the project .Perform various coating applications, including but not limited to airless spraying , roller coating , and brush coating, and correctly mix protective coatings as required .Perform various general on-site tasks, including but not limited to cleaning , sweeping , vacuuming , solvent wiping, masking and protection , and on-site preparation .Operate light and heavy equipment according to project requirements ( training ).According to the instructions of the site supervisor or the project plan , move tools and equipment, and move , fix, install, set up, load or unload materials.Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards .Job Requirements
No prior work experience is required; company training . Preference will be given to candidates with experience in industrial / commercial painting ; experience in shipbuilding or shipyard work is a plus.They must be able to work effectively in a fast -paced, team -oriented work environment .Reliable and punctual , with good communication skills, and able to follow verbal and written work instructions.Pay attention to details , including color matching and surface treatment standards .Able to read and comply with safety labels , safety data sheets, technical manuals and related technical standards.You must wear personal protective equipment (PPE ) provided by the company as required , including respiratory protective equipment .You must attend all safety, operational, and quality training required by the company .Good eyesight is required , and the ability to work normally and safely under different lighting conditions is essential.Able to safely operate various vehicles and equipment ( training ).You must hold a valid driver's license .Employees must pass a health check and be confirmed to meet the job competency requirements ; the cost of the check is borne by the employeeYou must be legally qualified to work in the United States . Work locations include industrial and shipbuilding sites , such as shipyards , storage tanks, and docks .Personnel must have the physical ability to enter and pass through all working areas of the shipyard and the vessel, including gangways, confined spaces and high-altitude work platforms, and be able to use ladders and fall protection equipment .It can work for extended periods in environments with noise, dust , smoke , and varying weather conditions .It can stand, climb, bend , kneel, squat, and stretch for extended periods of time .Must be able to carry items weighing up to 75 pounds ( about 34 kilograms), including short-distance carrying and carrying on stairs or ramps .Depending on the project requirements, business trips and overtime may be necessary.Welfare
