Dispatcher – Last Mile Delivery
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Dispatcher to manage daily delivery operations for oversized and large-item last mile deliveries in the US region. This is a growth-focused role with a clear path from day-to-day coordination to regional operational leadership. The ideal candidate will excel at routing, communication, performance tracking, and team management.
Key Responsibilities
• Create, assign, and optimize delivery tasks in applying routing logic and manual overrides when necessary.
• Coordinate daily hand-off between warehouse, pickup, and delivery teams.
• Monitor live routes, handle delivery exceptions, and maintain real-time communication with drivers.
• Collaborate with warehouse staff on inbound A-scan, outbound loading, and package sorting accuracy.
• Manage driver schedules, conduct feedback sessions, and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Review route efficiency and optimize daily assignments to improve operational performance.
• Coach drivers on app usage, Proof of Delivery (POD) requirements, and exception handling procedures.
• Coordinate coverage for driver absences and high-volume weeks.
• Identify and implement operational process improvements to boost efficiency and reduce cost.
• Oversee incident response for lost/damaged items and customer escalations.
• Partner with HQ on KPI dashboards, zone planning, and expansion opportunities.
• Hire, train, and mentor new dispatchers and coordinators.
Qualifications
• 2+ years in dispatching, transportation, or logistics coordination (last mile delivery experience preferred).
• Strong understanding of routing software
• Excellent communication skills for working with drivers, warehouse staff, and management.
• Ability to analyze data and act on performance metrics.
• Strong problem-solving skills under time pressure.
• Experience in oversized or large-item delivery operations preferred.
• Team leadership or driver management background preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
