About the Position
We are an upscale Japanese restaurant in Manhattan seeking a motivated and outgoing Marketing Manager / Business Development Manager to grow our corporate, group dining, private event, and special event business.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys meeting people, developing business relationships, and actively generating new customers. The primary focus will be outside sales and business development, with additional responsibility for supporting restaurant operations and team management when not conducting outside sales activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct daily outreach and business development in the surrounding Manhattan area.
* Visit and build relationships with corporate offices, companies, hotels, gyms, bars, entertainment venues, and other local businesses.
* Develop new corporate and group dining opportunities.
* Promote the restaurant for:
* Corporate Events
* Company Dinners
* Team Building Events
* Birthday Parties
* Private Parties
* Corporate Meetings
* Restaurant Buyouts
* Group Dining
* Identify potential business partners and establish long-term relationships.
* Follow up with leads, inquiries, and potential event clients from initial contact through booking.
* Maintain relationships with existing corporate and event clients.
* Coordinate with the restaurant management team to ensure successful execution of events and group reservations.
* Develop creative local marketing and partnership opportunities to increase restaurant traffic.
* When not conducting outside business development, assist with in-house team management, customer service, and daily restaurant operations.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in restaurant marketing, hospitality, sales, business development, or event sales preferred.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Confident approaching and communicating with businesses and potential clients.
* Self-motivated and comfortable working independently.
* Strong ability to generate leads and develop new business.
* Professional appearance and strong customer-service skills.
* Knowledge of the Manhattan business and hospitality market is a plus.
* Existing relationships with corporate offices, hotels, gyms, bars, event planners, or local businesses are a plus.
* Bilingual English/Chinese is preferred.
* Previous experience selling corporate events, private parties, group dining, or restaurant buyouts is highly preferred.
Compensation
Competitive Base Salary + Performance-Based Bonus
