Family Education Mentor / Private Educator (Native English Speaker)
Location: Irvine, California
We are seeking an exceptional Family Education Mentor to become a long-term part of our family and help guide the growth and development of our five boys (ages 12, 10, 8, 6, and 4).
We are looking for more than a tutor or nanny—we hope to find a trusted mentor and positive role model who can work closely with parents to nurture strong character, academic excellence, independence, leadership, and a global perspective.
Qualifications
* Male or female, under 60 years of age.
* Native English speaker.
* U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card holder). Chinese language ability is a plus.
* Passionate about working with children, with kindness, patience, integrity, and a strong sense of responsibility.
* Minimum 10 years of experience in education, child development, school administration, youth mentoring, or a related field.
* Previous family education experience is highly preferred. Candidates who are married and/or have children are preferred.
* Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record.
* Clean criminal background check.
* Non-smoker, no alcohol abuse, healthy lifestyle.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* High level of professionalism, discretion, and respect for family privacy.
* Seeking a long-term position. Three-month probation period followed by a formal long-term employment agreement (minimum three years).
Responsibilities
* Provide daily educational guidance and mentorship for five boys (ages 12, 10, 8, 6, and 4).
* Pick up children from school each afternoon.
* Communicate regularly with teachers and school staff.
* Manage school emails, notices, calendars, and important communications.
* Help develop individualized study plans and learning goals.
* Foster a love of reading, strong English communication skills, effective time management, independence, and positive habits.
* Encourage leadership, teamwork, responsibility, confidence, and emotional maturity.
* Accompany children to sports, outdoor activities, enrichment programs, community events, and weekend activities.
* Organize social opportunities with classmates and friends.
* Travel with the family on short trips and educational outings as needed.
* Create a safe, positive, supportive, and inspiring environment that promotes healthy development.
Schedule
The schedule follows the children’s academic calendar and daily routines.
* Generally begins in the early afternoon.
* School pickup between approximately 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM (varies by grade level).
* Work until approximately 8:00 PM, after the children are settled for the evening.
* Average 8-hour workday.
* Weekends, summer vacation, and school holidays are important working periods.
* Christmas vacation provided. Additional time off will be coordinated according to the school calendar and family schedule.
* A family vehicle will be provided for work-related transportation.
Compensation & Benefits
* $7,000–$8,000 per month, depending on education, experience, and qualifications.
* Annual salary review and performance bonuses for outstanding performance.
* Employer-provided work vehicle.
* Additional benefits are negotiable based on long-term cooperation.
