Key Responsibilities:
• Perform structural analysis and design for concrete, steel, masonry, timber structures using software.
• Evaluate retrofit and renovation designs for existing buildings.
• Prepare and review construction documents, calculations, and reports compliant with NYC Building Codes, IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, and NDS.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors to integrate structural systems
• Perform special inspections and local law inspections.
• Conduct site visits to assess existing structures, review construction progress, and resolve field issues.
• Participate in project meetings and client presentations.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Licensure: EIT required; PE license in NY (or ability to obtain within 1 year) strongly preferred.
• Experience: 2-4 years in structural design, with exposure to NYC projects (high-rises, commercial, or residential).
• Software Skills: Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAFE, RAM Structural, SAP2000).
• Local Authority Approval Knowledge: Familiarity with NYC DOB regulations, filing applications.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities.
